If I could leave no stars I would. Please take time to read especially if you're considering taking small children here.

I recently visited My ER with my 3-year-old son while out of town visiting family after he sustained a fracture to his arm while playing. Unfortunately, this was the worst healthcare experience I’ve ever encountered.

To provide context, I’ve been in healthcare for 11 years, with 8 years as a NICU and pediatric nurse, and I now hold a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree. I understand the challenges of healthcare, especially in pediatrics, but the care we received fell far below acceptable standards.

The visit started on a positive note. The medical assistant was kind, compassionate, and understanding, clearly experienced with children as he shared that he had three boys of his own. The x-ray technician was also kind and professional. However, the FNP who attended to my son did not perform an adequate assessment. She asked me to move my son’s arm for her rather than conducting the exam herself. As a fellow FNP, I found this surprising—assessments are fundamental to providing care.

The most traumatic part of the visit came when a nurse from the ER side arrived to apply a splint. She entered the room without introducing herself or explaining the procedure to me or my son. Instead of taking a moment to calm my scared and hurting child, she abruptly grabbed his arm. Naturally, my 3-year-old started screaming and resisting. As a former pediatric nurse, I know how important it is to communicate with children, explain what’s happening, and even let them explore the materials to ease their fears.

When my son resisted, she started yelling at him to stop moving and hold still. I intervened, reminding her that he was only 3 years old, hurt, and frightened. She then turned her yelling toward me, rudely telling me that he was “old enough to listen” multiple times. It was a deeply upsetting and traumatic situation for my son and me, and it escalated unnecessarily due to her behavior. Not only that, but when we returned to our car I told my husband that we needed to take him to an Orthopedic Doctor because his fingers were turning purple from the splint she applied.

To make matters worse, as we left the clinic, visibly shaken, the front desk staff showed no empathy or apology. Instead, when I confronted them about rolling their eyes and shaking their heads, they rudely responded, “How do you know what I’m shaking my head about?” This lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was appalling.

It’s clear this facility needs significant pediatric training if they intend to care for children. Medical staff must learn to communicate with both parents and children in a compassionate and professional manner.

As of 12/3/2024, I strongly advise against bringing pediatric patients to My ER. If you are burned out in healthcare—whether as a nurse, receptionist, or office manager—it’s time to find another path. Families seeking care deserve much better than what we experienced.

I was at My Emergency Room on 11-1-24. I had fallen and needed to see if there was any bones broken. Lab Tech Jared was very kind and caring. He made sure that I was comfortable. He helped me out if the wheelchair, on and off the testing tables. He. Conducted 3 different tests in 2 different areas. Always concerned and asking if I was ok. His attitude helped me to not be not as nervous about the tests. Jared needs to be recognized for his professionalism and compassion to his patients. .

Nurse Brenda and Rob in radiology were both unbelievably kind and helpful with our sick kiddo. They made him (and us) feel comfortable in the midst of an IV and X-ray, which were new experiences for him. Dr. Danescu was also helpful in getting our boy diagnosed and on the mend. I am grateful for the care and knowledge they all showed. A late night ER trip isn’t ever something we expect or look forward to, but this was the best experience we could have asked for.

Our granddaughter fell at Shotwell Friday night after the game and cut her knee badly enough for medical attention. Luckily we chose My Emergency Room 24/7 for for that care. From our tearful arrival to our tearless departure the entire staff was extremely caring and helpful. Our granddaughter was nervous and admittedly "very scared" and nurse Vicky (sadly we didn't get any other names) was gentle and calming. We ended up getting stitches and our granddaughter told her mother on the way home that she wanted to come back and have Nurse Vicky remove the stitches. As grand parents we can't say how pleased we were with how wonderfully and professionally our granddaughter was cared for. Thank you.

I took my friend to this emergency room because the wait time was atrocious at the other hospitals. She was seen within 15 minutes and they took such good care of her. Our nurse Christie was so friendly, patient, and understanding. My friend was in a lot of and she made sure she felt safe and explained everything. Her x-ray tech Lorrine was gentle and fast. We also had a paramedic in training named Dillon who was super knowledgeable and was there every step of the way. Dr. Slayer’s care team was amazing every step of the way from the time we entered until we left. They were so attentive, kind, and even gave us snacks while waiting. I would recommend this place to everyone if I could. If I’m ever in need this is the place I’m coming to. Plus we were in and out under 3 hours.

No one wants to go to the ER, but it was the best experience I have had for an ER. I was treated quickly and thoroughly. Dr. Brooks and Kaylie took excellent care of me along with others but I cannot remember their names. If I have to ever go to an ER then I will definitely go here again.

I bring my kids here when they get sick. Hardly any wait times, and the nurses and staff are always so nice and professional. Highly recommend.
