I bought two Hunter Douglas exterior roller blinds from this company in 2021, and they hung there just fine (or so it seemed) until early this year. The blinds had to be taken down earlier this year for reasons I won't go into, and then reinstalled. Texas Shutter Company charged me $700 to get them reinstalled, which I reluctantly agreed to, and a couple of subcontractors (aka clowns) came round in April to rehang them. To cut a long story short, it turns out that both the original contractors from 2021 AND the clowns who came round in April hung these blinds - which are large and heavy - directly from the sofit. As an employee from Texas Shutter Co later told me, it was a miracle they hadn't fallen down. In any case the April clowns lacked a bracket to hold the battery pack which drives them, so now I had one working blind and one not. So I got a bracket sent, and Texas Shutter Co sent round an employee to install the bracket ($120 fee) and rehang the blinds.... except she didn't because it was "too hot" (quote). That was when it was still in the 80s.... and this is Houston. It wasn't too hot, she just didn't want to do it. Anyway, three months after the installers first came in April, I have two blinds on the ground and am out of pocket $820. Eventually, Texas Shutter Co refunded me $700 (they pocketed the $120 for screwing the bracket on to the blind) and I found someone who was neither a clown nor heat intolerant. He described the previous installers as "idiots" when he looked at what they had done. I now have two working blinds, little thanks to Texas Shutter Co. I have to say that the office lady I dealt with was very nice and helpful, but the installers are "idiots". Moral of the story: by all means buy blinds here but DON'T get this company to install them.
